Exporting iPhone Contacts

Exporting your contacts from your iPhone is a quick way to back them up or import them into Valstorm CRM. Follow the steps below to generate and share your contact export file.

There are two sections and video walkthroughs below: the first demonstrates how to export from iOS, and the second details how to import the vCard file into Valstorm.

1. Exporting Contacts from iOS

1. Open the Contacts App: Use Spotlight search on your iPhone to look up Contacts and open the app.
2. Navigate to the Main View: If you aren't already there, tap the Back button in the upper left corner to ensure you are on the main lists page.
3. Select All Contacts: Press and hold down on the All Contacts option.
4. Export the List: Tap the Export button that appears in the pop-up menu.
5. Include All Fields: Select all the contact fields provided to ensure you are capturing all available information, then tap to accept or confirm.
6. Share the File: Choose your preferred method to send the file to your computer. You can email it to yourself, upload it to Google Drive or iCloud, or AirDrop it.
7. Access on Your Computer: Open the file on your computer and save the .vcf file locally.

2. Importing iPhone Contacts into Valstorm

Learn how to import contacts into Valstorm using a downloaded vCard, including locating the contacts menu, uploading the file, and verifying the import.

Step 1: Prep and Download Your Contacts

1. Ensure your iPhone contacts have been exported as a .vcf (vCard) file.
2. Download the vCard (.vcf) file directly to your computer.

Step 2: Navigate to the Valstorm Contact List

1. Open Valstorm on your computer.
2. Look for Contacts on the left-hand navigation sidebar.
3. If you do not see it on the sidebar: Click the Global Search bar (Cmd+K / Ctrl+K), type "contacts", and select it from the results.

Step 3: Open the Import Menu

1. In the Contact List view, locate and click the Import button in the header toolbar.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the import options until you see "Click to upload the vCard".

Step 4: Upload Your vCard File

1. Click the "Click to upload the vCard" button.
2. Select your downloaded .vcf file (or drag and drop the .vcf file directly into the upload area).
3. Run the import.

Step 5: Verify the Import

1. Wait for Valstorm to display a confirmation message that the contacts have imported successfully.
2. Go back to your Contact List.
3. Toggle the view filter to "All Contacts" to verify that all records have populated.
