Slack Integration: End-User & Agent Interaction Guide

Connect your Slack workspace to Valstorm and interact with autonomous AI agents across public channels, private channels, and direct messages.

Welcome to the Valstorm Slack Integration! This guide walks you through connecting your Slack account and interacting with your Valstorm AI Agent directly within Slack.

1. Connecting Slack to Valstorm

Connecting your Slack workspace takes less than a minute:

  1. Log into your Valstorm Web Application (https://app.valstorm.com).
  2. Navigate to Settings (gear icon) → Integrations → Slack.
  3. Click the Connect to Slack button.
  4. You will be redirected to Slack's secure OAuth authorization page:
  • Verify that your organization's workspace is selected in the top-right corner.
  • Review the requested permissions (sending messages, reading channels you are a member of, and viewing profile details).
  • Click Allow.
  1. You will automatically be redirected back to Valstorm with a confirmation badge: "Slack Connected".

2. Interacting with Valstorm Agent in Slack

Once connected, your autonomous Valstorm AI Agent is accessible everywhere across your Slack workspace.

Option A: In Public & Private Channels

  1. Invite the Valstorm bot to the channel:

  1. Tag the bot (@Valstorm Bot) followed by your request, question, or instruction:
  • CRM Queries & Call Lookups:

    @Valstorm Bot who called from 805-627-8780 and what voicemails were left?

  • Contact & Lead Creation:

    @Valstorm Bot create a new lead for John Doe with email [email protected] and phone 555-019-2834

  • Task & Schedule Summaries:

    @Valstorm Bot what tasks are pending for the marketing team this week?

  • Triggering Workflows:

    @Valstorm Bot generate a quarterly SEO summary for client Acme Corp and post it here.

Option B: In 1-on-1 Direct Messages

You can talk directly with the agent in a private direct message session:

  1. In your Slack sidebar under Apps, select Valstorm Bot (or search for it in Slack's top search bar).
  2. Type any prompt naturally into the chat box:
  • "Draft an email follow-up for Carolina regarding David Steinke's referral file."
  • "List all deals closing this month valued over $10,000."
  • "Summarize the latest inbound inquiries from today."

3. Supported Capabilities & Commands

4. Disconnecting Your Slack Account

If you ever wish to disconnect your Slack integration:

  1. Open Valstorm and navigate to Settings → Integrations → Slack.
  2. Click the Disconnect button.
  3. Valstorm will immediately:
  • Revoke your active bot and user tokens with Slack.
  • Mark the integration status as disconnected.
  • Stop listening to webhook events for your user profile.
